I can be pretty superstitious sometimes, especially after reading some Chinese zodiac predictions. It says that pigs must be more careful and might tend to spend more on medical expenses this year. So, I've told hubby about this and ask him to take good care of himself, unless he wants to visit hospital with doctors and nurses in nursing scrubs!

Both of us have been pretty busy lately and we don't have much time for exercising. It's time to lead a healthy living!

Local vs imported fruits

My kids love imported fruits but they are more expensive as comparing to local fruits. So, I won't buy too much in a week. If only we are staying in colder countries, then they would probably be able to feast themselves silly with all the strawberries, cherries, oranges or even buy truffles online?

It's not that local fruits are not delicious, which they really are. But my boy is picky. He doesn't take much local fruits!

Have I spoiled him when he was young? I didn't. His taste bug changed over the years!

For the first time in many years, my wife and I are going to my mom’s for lunch on Christmas day. Since we have been together (over 5 years), my wife and I have always spent Christmas with her family. I’ve never minded too much. I love my in-laws and always enjoy spending time with them. However, there’s something extra-special about being with your own mom on Christmas Day so I am excited about going over to her house. When I told my mom we would be coming over for Christmas Day, I offered to bring a dishfor lunch. She is cooking a turkey and most of the sides so she suggested we bring a dessert. I wanted to make something extra special for the occasion so I used our HughesNet Internet to look for recipes. I found a recipe for a pecan pie that sounds so delicious I may have to make two. Even better, the recipe print out also includes a shopping list so I know exactly what and how much of it to buy at the store.

Oh boy, I have overspent during the new year's celebration! We should be frugal but I can't help buying and spending during the short break away. :P It's time to get serious in work and earn more money again!!!

Maybe I should look for part time Medical Records Assistant Jobs. LOL! But with my tight schedule, I don't even have time to get more beauty sleep, let alone handle more jobs!

Food blogger

OMG, I've almost forgotten that this is a food blog! When's the last time I snap photos of food and posted here? It must be months ago. Nowadays, I can't be bothered to snap photos at restaurants or the food brochure displays anymore. I've stopped being a blogger!

But I'm still enjoying food. Hubby and I went for Korean BBQ the other night and the meat was nice. But it's too much meat over a meal and I got sick the next day. LOL!

Budget

I won't be getting any life insurance quotes this year as our budget is all used up on condo and rebuilding our lives. Sien...

Now that business is all down again, I can forget about buying all the things which I plan to get this year end. But I shall work harder to get them all next year! That should be my one and only new year resolution, buy all the things that I want!

Of course, before I could even flash the cash, I must make them first. :P

We've only been married for a few months and we're still living out of boxes in our new house! But we're both really trying to get unpacked and completely settled in by Christmas because we're having some of our family over for Christmas Eve lunch. My wife has a lot on her hands just unpacking her share of the stuff, so I took it on myself to buy some Christmas decorations for us.

i went online to see if I could find some good ideas about how to decorate the Christmas tree and while I was online getting some ideas, I ran across the site www.HomeProImprovement.com. Our kitchen could really use some remodeling, I think that's why we got a good deal on our house, so we're going to get a consultation through the site.

I'm pretty pleased with a lot of the decorations that I bought, although my wife went out and bought some more stuff becuase I don't think that I bought enough to begin with, but I am pretty proud of what I bought and I think she is too.

Since the flood, I have more time reading and I'm into my 3rd novel now. It's just some lovey doney Hollywood type of novels, which I grabbed by Asiabooks sale.

I'm still very old fashioned when it comes to reading, I prefer to hold a book, instead of reading from ereader or ebook from iPad. It's nice to curl up in bed reading a book after the kids have fallen asleep. It's PEACE!

As much as my house has been flooded for 3 weeks, we are still the lucky ones comparing to those who have houses flooded for months. It's hard surviving in a flooded house, just imagine you can't use the toilets!

I should be giving thank you gift basket to those who have offered to help us, we are truly grateful. Nonetheless, we can still manage everything on our own at this stage.

Electrocuted

How can I not switching off the main power of my house before evacuating? Oh ya, I thought that the authority will cut the power of us, but who knows, they didn't do so. All the wire cover and socket plugs are in water by now, so it's too dangerous to go back before the water recedes totally.

Out of the total number of death (381 by now), a lot of victims were actually electrocuted. So, no play play with the main power.

Better stay safe than sorry.

gardening

If I have a garden, I might want to get a compost tumbler to make my own compost of the plants. I'm not good at gardening but I'm willing to learn.

However, we are staying in condo soon so there won't be any garden at all! The balcony is too small to fit in a lot of pots, so I can only do minimum gardening.

But then again, it won't hurt to think for a better future. Maybe I will get my dream house one day, won't I? :)

Flood

My iPhone dies faster these few days because I can't stop myself from checking about the flood update, every single moment of the day. I even check when I'm waiting at the traffic lights, and some times calling hubby without wireless headphones to keep both of us well informed.

Things have gone out of control, even if most are trying to assure there won't be a flood in Bangkok. Bear in mind it's only the inner city is spare while the rest of us on the outer sides are suffering.

But we have moved out from our place, without giving the house a proper protection though. Let's pray harder that the house won't be flooded before my contract ends in 3 weeks.

There are so many times that I saw James Spader in movies when he was younger, so when I first heard back during the last season of The Office that he was going to be interviewing for the regional manager position, I thought that it was going to be so great seeing him on the show! But now that I've seen him on the show some, I'm not so sure that I actually like his character. He acts like a really big jerk but I guess that is why he is supposed to be so funny for the show.

I guess that most of the roles that I have seen him act in were roles when he was kind of the bad guy. I read online a few weeks ago that he was going to be the new CEO for the position. That night I found that I also found some stuff about high speed internet providers online. I looked through it and decided to change over our home internet service to one of providers that I found in that info.

I am sure that James Spader is going to grow on me some as the crazy CEO as the company. I think him being crazy is kind of the point of his character anyway.

Long Vacation

It's been so long since our last oversea vacation and I can't foresee anything in the near future. My kid's friend is going to Italy for a month for the coming school break and I'm so envy with it! Being in Italy is already a great vacation but to be able to afford for a month is amazing!!!

I wish that I can have a long vacation like this soon, even if I know that it's not going to happen!!!! Forget about the rv insurance quote as I don't want to drive around in a foreign land. Please just let me shop till I drop in Europe!

I can't understand why some people do drugs. Maybe I'm too boring and too kiasi, so I have never thought about trying anything, even it's just a small pill to make me high. I certainly hope that those who would like to come clean check themselves into heroin detox rehab treatment centers before it's too late.

More importantly, I must educate my kids well. It's soooo worrying being a parent!

Gadgets

I stop buying gadgets for some time, and I didn't even get another tablet pc since iPad 1. Nevertheless, I hope that I will get a Macbook Pro this year because my Dell is dying.

I need it for work and leisure, without a laptop, I can't do much at the office, and I can't chase all my favorite series online!!!

But before that, let us settle the move and the kids' school fees first. Then, we shall work harder to earn more money to recover from the big big purchases we have done lately. Hopefully, we will have more budget to spend on new gadgets, and BAGS!!!

Progress

We went to check out our condo yesterday and I'm so glad that things are back on track. The workers surprised me with their speed and workmanship, and hopefully we won't run behind schedule again.

They are breaking the connecting wall today, and once it's ready, installation will be carried out. We are still working on our kitchen design as it seems like the oven can't fit in the space allocation. I wish to get one of those dishwashers too, but we are running out of space for fitting one in. :(

Hopefully, we will only stay in this condo for 3 years and by then we are financially capable of getting a landed property. As much as I know that we can't owe one under our names, but there are other ways of getting one.

In the mean time, I shall appreciate what we have.

Baking and Cooking

I hope that I will have time for baking and cooking class one day. After moving into our new place, I wish that I can bake more for the kids, and prepare some fancy dishes for hubby. Even if I'm not interested in Sous Chef Jobs, but I believe that I should always try to improve my kitchen skills.

I just can't wait to get a new oven. I would love to try out a few baking sessions at our new home and I know that my kids would love to help.

Yoohoo!!! I don't have to cook my own curry mee anymore when I'm craving for one. I've found a place selling Singaporean food near my place, and it's serving food like bak kut teh, curry laksa, char keow teow and etc. I can't say that it tastes the same, but at least it can satisfy my cravings.

The only thing about this place is there is only one waiter taking orders, serving and acting as the cashier too. So, don't expect everything to be fast. Tie the kids with ps3 bundle or iPad please. :P

But then again, I enjoy the food.

The blogger in me has long gone. I have even stopped snapping photos about food, places and anything interesting. Even if I do, I hardly feel like blogging about it. It's just like a passion is dead. :P

I guess it's all for good as I don't have time to manage the blogs. One of my blogs had just died a couple of days ago when I refused to renew the domain. Oh well, just let it be. It's not that it's making a lot of money previously or selling any nurses uniforms or anything anyway.

Don't tell me I need to start looking for houses for rent if our condo is not ready in less than 2 months. HELP! If money is not a concern, everything can be done pretty fast but we are still waiting for funds to be transferred this month in order to kick start the renovation. Talk about buying a property without a home loan. Sigh...

I'm getting pretty nervous and panic about the whole situation. I do hope that we can move in early October and everything will be a smooth one.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is very different than many of the other seasons on the Bravo channel, because there is one person who always makes it interesting, and that is Kim Zolciak. This show is my favorite reality television show to watch, and I always record it with my satellite TV from http://www.direc4u.com. Kim is one of the most entertaining people to watch, and so is her assistant even though I have no idea why on earth she would need an assistant. Kim has gone from being the mistress of a very wealthy man to becoming a pop star, even though she can't sing.

Kim's singing is so bad that is one of the funniest parts of the show, and you actually end up feeling embarrassed and bad for her. Between her love life and shopping you can hardly keep up with her, plus she is always stirring up drama with the other cast mates on the show. Her fighting with NeNe is equally as funny as her singing, and NeNe is the villain for this series. She is loud and annoying, and its sometimes hard to hear the things that come out of her mouth. This is my favorite reality show and I couldn't live without it.

Is it too early to be shopping for holiday cards? It's end of July but I already can't wait for Christmas!

We should be in our little condo by Christmas, and I'm so going to get ourselves a Christmas tree. The kids will be so thrilled to have one and expecting Santa Clause to leave their presents under the tree. They know that Santa can't find their socks since we don't have a chimney. LOL!

No Photos

Argh!!!! My ACDsee died on me today, so I can't process my food photos for this blog. Never mind, I shall uninstall and reinstall and see if it works again. It's my old Dell cracking up on me too, maybe it's time to upgrade to MacBook Pro!!!

I would have to skip lunch for 2 months to get the gadget, but at least I save up on getting weight loss pills for women and win myself a new laptop. LOL!

All our money is tight up for the condo, so it's hard to buy anything expensive lately. Money is never enough!

Smaller Place

One of the things about moving into a condo is, we don't need to have address plaques anymore. Even the mail boxes are all located like pigeon holes, and I will surely miss my own plague and mail box now.

Besides that, I will miss having a garden. Not that I love gardening, but having a lawn makes a lot of difference for the kids. I will miss the feeling of having a bigger space, and walking up and down the stairs of my house too.

But maybe moving into a smaller condo makes cleaning up easier. :)

Money money money

I would love to be born rich but in actual life, I'm not that lucky. Thus, everything I have comes with hard work and not just based on luck nor opportunity. I would love to have more money and get it invested by Missoula, MT wealth management group, but before that can happen, I need to work harder first. :P

Since both my kids are in private school, I need to put their education in priority first, then only my personal indulgence. That's why I have always feel that we are not making enough because a lot of money has been allocated for the kids. Mmmm...later on we might have to save up for house and car and etc!

Moving

Yes! We are moving soon! Not into a big house yet, but into 2 small condo units joining into one. It's not as spacious as I've hope for but it should be sufficient for us for the time being. Again, there is no extra room for a living in maid! Argh....

I will be very busy planning for renovation, and I definitely can't buy any diamond tennis bracelets now. Nonetheless, I will try to buy a few new items for my walk in closet! LOL~

The kitchen costs the most for the renovation but it's all worth it. I spend more time at the kitchen than anywhere in the house. :P

I just can't wait to move in.

Waiting...

I hate waiting for people, it's a total waste of my time. But what if I'm late? :P

Anyway, I try my best not to be late, as the feeling of waiting is totally sucks. Other than shop till I drop or checking out outdoor adventures brochures at the venue, I would prefer to get a nice cup of coffee while waiting for someone.

If only these cafes serve free flow of coffee!!!

Dean and Deluca Bangkok

I'm probably one of the last to visit Dean and Deluca a couple of months ago. When it was newly open, I heard that this place was packed. On first glance, I could see a lot of expats here, so it would be a nice place to bump into someone from your home country.

Again, all photos were snapped with my phone as hubby didn't tell us we were heading there.

Hubby thought that we could be seated and asked about our orders but he's wrong. You have got to order your food at the counter. My coffee came after 15 minutes. Oh boy...

So, how's the food? I think it's just so so or maybe I haven't tried the sandwiches??? Environment wise, it's a nice place for coffee and brunch. Too bad my kids walloped their shares before I could even snap photos of their meals.

So, there isn't much to share here. LOL! The kids love the place, but it's not too big to wander around. Good for me, I don't need steiner binoculars to look for them.

Diet again

It's time to get back to my normal working routine. I shall be able to skip having a heavy lunch more often after my kids are back to school. No more eating their leftovers, and worrying if I need hgh now.

Things will be back to normal again after the next school break in a couple of months. In short, I'm glad that I can take in charge of what I want to eat or not during working days, instead of putting my kids' priority first. You have no idea how fat I have been over the past 10 weeks!

New Place

I wish that I have a bigger kitchen, with a kitchen island and 2 tall stools. That will be the place where the kids and I can do some bento or baking together. That will be fun.

But this dream can't be materialized yet, and hopefully hubby is working hard on it. I have found my dream house but it needs a lot of money! So in the mean time, we will be moving into a small condo, which I can't fit Adirondack chairs because there is no garden! Sigh...

Moving Soon

We have finally bought our first property in Bangkok. It's not a big house but a small condominium at 29th floor. It's pretty tall and for someone who's afraid of height, it's going to take me some time to get used to the height. Furthermore, my kids won't be able to play on the grass like they do now after we move into the new place, so I'm not sure if they will be too bored with their new home.

Anyway, renovation will start soon. We have interior designers doing the designs for us since it's such a small place, I don't have confidence in doing it on my own. I'm pretty sure that the designer will pick one of the glass top dining tables and I can just cover the glass with vinyl tablecloth on normal days, and remove it when we are expecting guests.

There are 2 balconies on the unit, so I might have to decorate one into a mini garden, and place some dish chair there. It would be nice to enjoy some greenery on a high rise building.

Ok, I can't wait for the condo to be ready.

Shoot, I still haven't got myself insured here in Thailand. I have 2 PA insurance policies which come with my bank accounts but not a hospitalization coverage. Maybe I should really check out some Wholesale Insurance meant for expats living in Thailand.

Actually, paying for insurance is a big ripped off so if I'm loaded with cash, I won't be bothered about getting myself insured. But since I'm not a millionaire, I better get a new insurance soon.

Dean and Deluca Bangkok

This blog is definitely rotting. All the food photos kept in xbox hard drive are not being processed and I'm so lazy to snap new photos anymore. OMG, the blogger in me is disappearing.

There was a time when I just had to snap photos of everything, especially food. But these days, I just can't be bothered. I visited Dean and Deluca in Bangkok last Sunday, and it would be a good place to be blogged about. Ok, I think the food is just so so but it's a nice place to get to know some expats living in BKK and also it's a good place for hanging out with friends.

I did snap some photos with iPhone but the photo composition sucks. :P So, let's forget it.

Malaysian Satay

Ipoh Hawker Food

During our trip back to Malaysia last 2 weeks, we didn't have time to check out those new fancy restaurants with led outdoor lighting, romantic setting and expensive food, but we managed to enjoy those local hawker food which we really missed.

My hubby's favorite is hakka mee. Being born a hakka, he used to take this noodles at least once a week when we lived in Ipoh. The stall owner knows what he's going to order each time he's there.

As for me, I so missed Ipoh hoh fun and bean sprouts!

It's really nice to enjoy the good food in Ipoh again.

Bubble Tea

I guess hubby's plan to set up bubble tea here won't be working out due to tonnes of issues. It would be easily if they can just start one by getting those bubble tea franchise opportunities directly from Taiwan, but since they would like to start on their own, things are not as easy as expected.

Poor hubby, he doesn't have much time for golf and gym anymore, and I'm quite please with it. LOL! The evil me wishes that he spends more time at home helping with the kids, but I shall let him have golf this Sunday. Herbalife

I'm taking Herbalife milk shake for 2 weeks now, not everyday, but most of the working days. I didn't lose much weight but just a kilo. My main reason is not for losing weight but to supplement my lunch. Some times, I am too lazy to eat out, and would rather finish my work early and sell more engine driven pumps or my products.

I feel dizzy on the first few days but it's getting better now. I guess I will continue to get my second set of Herbalife!

Gift

Since I'm going back this April, I might as well get myself an early Mother's Day present. I have already bought some accessories for her, even if they are not mothers day cat jewelry, I hope that she will like it.

If everything goes well, maybe I will get her a designer bag next year. Her LV is very old now, and she definitely loves to get a new one.

So, I better work harder. I need more money luck and wealth!

Braised Pork Leg

Again, will someone please pass me the best fat burner? I'm in love with braised pork leg lately and it's sinfully fattening!

Bangkok has a lot of nice braised pork leg stalls. It's a common dish, normally prepared by Thai Chinese. It takes a long hours to get the meat cooked so tenderly, so forget about asking me to prepare one at home.

I would rather ta pau or eat at the stall. Gosh...I am drooling by just looking at the pic!

Roast Pork

I will need to check out lipozene reviews if I take roast pork daily. But still, you can't deny that it's yummy delicious!

Hubby loves roast pork but I haven't tried roasting one at home. I saw some recipes so maybe one day I will try.

Actually, why go through all the hassle when I can just buy one from the stall? It's quite common here.

Singapore Loh Mee

I had cravings for loh mee once in a while. I have never seen one in Bangkok, so you can imagine how happy I was to enjoy this nice bowl of loh mee and deep fried shark meat at one of the food courts in Singapore. I don't know why there were shark meat either, SIL ordered them for me.

Nonetheless, I prefer my loh mee with lots of chilies paste but not garlic! Even if you tell me that garlic can help in adult acne, I still don't like it.

White Coffee

I'm a heavy coffee drinker, I can't live without coffee. I only stopped taking it when I was pregnant and breastfeeding. Other than that, I must have at least 2 cups per day.

When I was in Singapore, I was so happy to have this cup of white coffee. White coffee is not so common in Bangkok. I felt so heavenly sipping on that hot cup of coffee on a rainy day. Forget about decorative birdhouses, just buy me a cup of nice coffee.

But of course, I don't mind designer bags. LOL!

Skin

I am glad that my gal has outgrown her skin problem. When she was a baby, she has very sensitive skin. She even went for eczema treatment for some time to get rid of a skin outbreak.

But now, she has very good skin, except for some cuts and bruises. She is an active kid, so she falls a lot too!

As long as she's healthy, I can't complain more.

Kitchen

I have always wanted a bigger kitchen with all the KitchenAids, Tefals, and le creuset. That's why I love browsing through kitchen magazines in hope that one day I will own all these nice cooking tools.

There must be an island in my kitchen. It will be the place where I fix the bentos, and where my kids can sit and have breakfast along.

But first thing first, we need to get a bigger house fast!

Sick

I'm having a flu but I'm not taking any pills. Let's see if my antibody can fight the virus on its own. Taking pills without prescription can be very harmful but then, prescribed pills can't be always safer too. If you are taking Accutane and suffering from its injuries, you should think about filing Accutane Lawsuit against the manufacture.

Chinese New Year means it's time for feasting again. I will have a short break to forget about my biz or buyer jobs, and try to enjoy myself during this festive season.

I hope that we can have yee sang, but I doubt it. Hubby's family is quite boring, and they don't really like to do fancy celebration. Sigh...

I really miss spending CNY with my side of family. Hopefully we will be able to do so next year.

Hawker Food

I will try my best to snap some food photo in Sg. I might even need diet weight loss pills after this trip especially if I want to try as much pearl milk tea as ever. The pearl milk tea is BKK sucks a lot, so hopefully I can get some nice ones in Sg.

I have been craving for Chinese hawker food, which is very hard to get here in Thailand. I shall eat my heart out this time and worry about my weight later. :P

Packing

I try my best to pack light but ironically, I don't have sample size of my facial products! I pack all the big bottles this time and they take up a lot of space. Gee...luckily I don't need the best acne face wash, I might just borrow facial wash from SIL. :P

She takes good care of her face, so I guess she has all the right products. I don't pack my shampoo and conditioner too. Oh gosh, I forgot to pack the tooth brushes!!! I must remember to get them later.

Flying

I'm a bit nervous about departing for Sg later as I need to catch a cab on my own, with my kids and a big luggage. I am worried that I might not be able to handle them and pulling the luggage along on my own. Sigh...

Luckily I feel good today, and it's not like that time when I had ear ache and required a test with the audiometer. Flying with an ear ache is no fun at all.

Coffee Beans by Dao

After a series of serious shopping for clothes, shoes, and anything but cell phone chargers at Central World, I needed to have my cake treat. I'm a cake person, I love cakes!

When my friend suggested Coffee Beans, I thought, "Thailand has Coffee Beans?"

Apparently, there is Coffee Beans but it's not by Coffee Beans and Tea Leaf.

The cakes are very nice here, and there are Thai cuisine too. Another place where I should come again.

Lunch at Central World

It's been awhile since I last went to Central World, so I was quite glad to have lunch with my friend there.

We picked Japanese that day, and there are a lot of Japanese restaurants here, but I left like going for Japanese pasta.

I started with my favorite dessert, the red bean!

It's quite a pleasant lunch here. I must bring my kids here next day, if they are not too choosy about other cuisine or too busy checking out gaming desktops with their dad.

Quiet Lunch

As much as I hate eating alone, I do appreciate the quiet lunch I have, instead of having a noisy table of kids.

When I went looking for medicine cabinets the other day, I dropped by Food Loft again, and I love every moment of my peaceful quiet lunch.

The place was not crowded, and not noisy at all. The tables by the windows are just great with the right amount of sun rays shining through.

It's not so much about the food, but how I felt that make that lunch seemed wonderful.

In a few more months, we shall be paying off our car loan, and I wonder if we should change to a new car. If the company can make a profit, getting a bigger car is possible, and it's not hard to get the cheapest auto insurance either.

But if I would to gain a better GP, I won't be getting a car so soon. Let's see how things go next year, and I do know that it's going to be a better year for us.

11th NAP or Nimman Art and Design Promenade, Chiangmai

We went to Chiangmai last weekend, and coincidentally, we stayed at Amari Rincome Hotel, which is very near to where 11th NAP or Nimman Art and Design Promenade was held. It's a nice fair to check some art and crafts, looking for pearl gifts for mom, and also a place to get cheap and yummy food.

My kids were totally delighted by the toasts with candies!

The weather was great, so it made the walking and window shopping more enjoyable when we were tagging 2 kids along.

Don't miss it next year.

Mansion 7 @ Ratchada

Some times, you just don't know where else to go in Bangkok. So, if you are looking for some new and cool spots, check out Mansion 7 at Ratchada. There are a few restaurants here, but not in big scale. You can do some simple shopping here at some boutiques.

But the main attraction should be this haunted house with creepy stuffs. Forget about finding modern furniture in it.

I'm trying to eat out at least twice a week, but mostly on my own. I really need to have so social life here! If not, I might end up getting storing some anti depression med in a new Robern Medicine cabinet. :P

Anyway, I went to Sizzler the other day, and had a great lunch, on my own. :P

I have always loved their salad bar.

Lunch at MK Restaurant

This is something I do at least once a month. I will have lunch alone at MK! How crazy huh? Going for steamboat alone. :P

But I don't order a lot, for the fear of needing fat burner soon. The veggie set is just great for me, and I will order some protein.

Having steamboat alone sounds very lonely, but what to do? I just love it!

Better Phone Better Photos

iPhone 4 sure snaps nicer photos than iPhone 3GS. I'm so glad to have it!

Now, I try my best to snap more food photos for this blog, even if most of them are for paid posts like www.onewaytextlink.com. But at least the niche is still there, it's all about FOOD. LOL!

I like dSLR but it's very bulky to bring around. A small iPhone is good enough for photos, and it's not like I'm taking high resolution photos!

Eating Alone Again

I hate eating alone but there is nothing I can do about it. I don't have many friends here!!!!

But some times, I appreciate the moment of having a peaceful meal. I can also do some shopping if time permits, checking out tea tree oil and eczema which I don't need to kill some time.

Best of all, my choice of food is quite yummy. That brightens up my working day.

Sick

I fell sick for a couple of days, and I was so surprised that a food lover like me didn't feel hungry at all for almost 3 days. Everything I put in the mouth went out uncontrollably, and it's not a pleasant experience. It's a misery!

I thought of admitting myself to the hospital for drips but I can't leave my kids unattended. Besides that, I have just spent 4 days at the hospital with my gal, and saw too many nurses in scrubs, and the thing I need is seeing another one in cotton scrub.

Anyway, I'm feeling much better now. Hubby took good care of him, even if I didn't have any day off from work. The only different between him and the medical staffs was he didn't have a scrub. Maybe he didn't know where to buy medical scrubs. LOL!

Spaghetti Factory

My kids love spaghetti and pasta, so you bet they love this place! Spaghetti Factory has a few outlets in Bangkok, if I'm not mistaken, and we have one nearby our area now.

My kids love the creamy mushroom sauce, and also the lasagna.

Honestly, I love the food too, but I would need diet pills that work if I come here too frequent!

The crispy fried chicken is great too. It's worth a try.

Quit Smoking

I have never smoked, and I have never tempted to try either. In fact, I quite hate the smell of cigarettes and cigarillo, but to some smokers, they are heavenly scents.

I try to stay away from smoking areas, especially when I was pregnant and now with my kids. Being a passive smokers is equally bad as being one. Even 3rd smoker is bad too, as you can still smell the cigarettes on your furniture and carpet after the smokers have long left.

I'm glad that hubby has quit smoking.

Skin Problem

As I mentioned before, I don't have acne problem since young, so I can't recommend any acne solutions. On the other hand, hubby has problematic skin and it flares according to his stress level. Some times, his skin will improve but once there is an outbreak, it can be pretty bad.

I bought some products for him over time but he doesn't have the discipline in using them. So, I guess he can't blame anyone for his skin, except for his genes and laziness!

I wish that I'm a billionaire who can buy gold bars and store them in my safe deposit. That would be a great achievement, personally and in terms of wealth.

Maybe I'm being influenced by the song I want to be a billionaire! LOL! But honestly, how many of us have the money to buy gold bars? They are so expensive, and they cost more than gold jewelry.

But it's a status symbol. I surely hope that I have a chance to reach that stage one day, in this life time! But before that, I have to work very very hard. Life is so tough!

Thai curry

I love curry. Thai curry is very creamy with coconut milk, but the same as Indian curry. I cook curry quite often in Thailand, but by using the convenient packing instead of starting from herbs and curry powder.

Grilled Pork and Sticky Rice

My gal loves Thai sticky rice. It's actually glutinous rice, but it's called sticky rice in Thai. She will have it everyday if i let her, but like most Chinese, we might think that it's not good for digestion.

Thai likes to have sticky rice with grilled meat, and som tum. It's a simple meal, but it's fulfilling!

Saving Up

I like to instill a good saving habit in my kids, even if it's just a few loose coins per week. If they keep this habit for years, they might be able to get themselves a gold bullion when they are adults!

Some times, they will spend all their daily allowance but my gal likes to keep some away. I keep telling them that I will give them pocket money again on certain days of the week, so they don't have to worry about not getting much, even if they don't spend it all.

Good money sense should start from young. I hope that they will understand the value of money eventually.

Chicken Salad at Mos Burger

Fried Chicken and Som Tum Rice

That's my lunch a few weeks ago. I love som tum, but this set comes with som tum and fried chicken too. The chicken was too dry to my liking but the som tum was not too bad. Nonetheless, it's quite a spicy and pricey set lunch.

New House

Will I be able to buy gold coin next year? I wonder. I went to see a new house yesterday, and even if I love it, I don't think we can buy one soon. I might as well waiting for the new phrase as our company is not ready to purchase a house yet.

But if I have gold coins right now, I might be able to sell some off and pump into business capital. Then, maybe I can get my own house here!

Thai Fried Mihun

I miss having the economy fried mihun back home, so I thought of having the Thai style mihun. But too bad it's not the same, they fried the mihun with chili powder instead of soy sauce! So it's spicy, and I don't quite like it.

I still prefer the cheap economy fried mihun in Penang!

Seafood Spaghetti

Thai spaghetti is quite different from Italian spaghetti. They like to fry it! That's the seafood spaghetti I had some time ago, and I can't remember where it was from. LOL!

It tasted nice but it's not the same like the creamy seafood spaghetti ala Italian. This is spicy, and with lots of chilies. It's more like Thai food to me.

End of the year

It's end of the year, but I haven't realized most of my yearly goals. I'm desperate now! Even if my business is not progressing fast enough to buy me any gold coins, but I'm glad that it's growing. I still have to work harder next year, and I don't know how long I need to put the effort into it.

But it's nice to see some progress, no matter how big or small. At least it's my effort, and it's something I have put my heart into it.

There is still 2 months to go before the new year. I hope that I can still work something out.

Steak Lao by NNP

We dropped by for lunch at Steak Lao a couple of weeks ago, and it's quite a nice place for family. My kids love the Thai dishes, especially the prawn cakes.

This is something new which I tried at one of the Thai restaurant at Siam Paragon some time ago. I can't remember the name of the restaurant, even if I've dined here a couple of times. Sorry that I can't just ask you to click here to know the details of the place.

But this dish was done with fish paste, topped on bread and deep fry. It's really nice, and I love it. I would have try this dish at home, if time permits.

I've just had a vomiting conversation with a staff. Oh boy, my Thai must be really bad, he can't understand what I mean! I'm just asking him to do some design and document imaging, is it that hard?

Luckily, he is very dedicated in his job, so I guess he will try to do his work, despite not following my instruction completely. But I will ask him to amend later on, if the design doesn't fit.

Working in this country is so hard, let alone running a biz.

Bourbon Street Bar and Restaurant Bangkok

Hubby found this restaurant online and decided to check it out at the very last minute. I didn't bring my camera along, so I snapped the photos with my iPhone. They are sucks, I know.

Bourbon Street seems like very popular along expats and tourists, but I feel that the place is kind of old. Anyway, the food is alright, so at least it's not too bad.

Actually, it's a bad idea to bring my naughty and noisy kids there. The angmohs are all very quiet, so our table was the noisiest. We didn't steel drums to let others know where were we sitting!

OMG, I am so busy today but I still have some pending assignments to be completed! Worse still, I left my camera at home so I can't upload any better looking food photos. I have no choice but to use my ugly photos snapped with my iPhone.

Normally, I would spend time on my assignments first but these 2 weeks have been pretty tough for me. Besides wishing for more time, I need the best wrinkle cream too!

What do you know? It's an hour before lunch but I shall leave early. I want to bring my kids to the book store, so it's best to leave now than later.

My schedule is a bit tight this week, so everything has to be done in lightning speed, including lunch! What to do? Hubby puts all the money making responsibility for me, so if I want to get some gold bullion, I have to work harder. Sigh... Pity me.

I guess I better be going. My kids are running around making noises at the office now, it's best to bring them out and let others work in peace.

My kids love the pork chop, so they basically finished my meal while I had their burger. Sigh...

Hajime Robot Restaurant

Are you looking for some interesting and unique restaurant to dine in Bangkok? If so, you might like Hajime Robot Restaurant. It's located at Monopoly Park, Rama 3, which is a bit out from the city center. The whole complex is pretty empty, except this restaurant which is located on the 3rrd floor.

We came in at 4pm, and it's not even dinner time yet. Later on, the place was quite occupied.

You can either pick shabu shabu or grilling. We went for steamboat.

The waitress will give you a briefing on how to order the food. All done in touch screen beside the table, and it's quite fun for kids to try out the system.

Once you have done your selection of food, press "Order to Robot".

Then, the robot will serve you your meal. Isn't it fun? Oh well, at least to my kids, it's fun! They were pretty thrilled with the whole dining experience. The robots did a dance too. So, do check it out.

No Friends

I love good food and great company to enjoy the food with. If possible, I would love to do this at least once a week with some good friends, but too bad I don't have a lot of friends here. My social skill is pretty sucks in Thailand.

So, we actually spend less eating out at fancy places, and maybe it's a good thing too. Spending less might not be saving up more, but at least there is a penny here and there. Will I have enough to buy gold coin eventually? Maybe I do.

But I really miss eating out with a bunch of good friends. That's something I can't get staying here in a foreign land.

Thai Praying Ritual

Our office organizes praying ritual annual, by inviting a fengsui master and 9 monks to do some blessing to the business and well being of the workers. It's a Thai custom, and SIL is the one who plans everything. Let just say that she's the master mind of the company, including getting the tv deals and the best office equipment. LOL!

After 2 years in Thailand, I sort of having the idea how the praying ritual is done.

Food is served to the monks after the praying ceremony. Unlike the monks in my home country, the Thai monks do eat meat, if you serve to them. They eat before noon and should be fasting for the rest of the day until the next morning. Most of the monks are given food for free where Thai people send the food to the temple, or when they come across the monks on the road.

If you are a woman, make sure that you don't have physical contact with the monks when passing the food or offerings to them. It's forbidden to touch a monk ladies! Most of the time, the Thai will let the men do the job.

After the monks have eaten and left, we were allowed to enjoy the simple feast.

Thai loves to have cha ohm omelet and fresh greens with chili paste.

I have forgotten to snap the desserts. You must try Thai desserts, unless you are watching your sugar intake and your weight!

Wine Connection at K Village Sukhumvit

I bought my kids lunch with a friend here at Wine Connection, at K Village in Sukhumvit, and I instantly love the place. The food is great, and so is the ambiance. There are no tvs here, like some restaurants which set up TVs for the diners. I have no problem with restaurants which karaoke and TV, but if I would like a place where I can chat and make sure that my kids eat better, one without TV works better for us.

Should I just forget about going to Japan? But I saw a promotion by Mas, which I haven't check out if flights to Japan are available. Seriously, I don't feel like giving up. Even if the money can be used on gold bullion, I still hope for a vacation next year.

So maybe I should keep an eye on all the other airlines too. But I doubt that others can be as cheap as AirAsia. Anyway, it's worth a shot.

So, about saving up for gold, can I do it after my vacation? I haven't go on a serious holiday abroad for years!

Maido Ookini Traditional Japanese Restaurant

I've almost wanted to try Maido Ookini since it's opened a year ago, but it has almost slipped past my mind as there are so many restaurants at any shopping mall. So the other day, I went there for lunch.

Being a first timer, I didn't know that I should have queue up and order my lunch first before be seated. It's really like a cafeteria, if you ask me, but with a nice restaurant setting.

I tried the curry tonkatsu, and it's quite good.

I guess I will come here again in the future. :)

Curry Chicken Noodles Again

Eating alone again. This time, I went for curry chicken noodles because I craved for it. It reminds me of the one I used to have in Ipoh a very long time ago, and it's as close as I have find here in Thailand.

I looked pretty lonely eating by myself during the peak lunch hour, but what to do? I'm always alone in Thailand. :(

Bye Bye Tokyo

I'm sad, I can't grab the cheap tickets via AirAsia to Tokyo, so I have no choice but to cancel our plan to Japan. Hubby is not keen anyway, and it's the cheap tickets that made him change his mind initially. Since it's quite expensive now, hubby didn't want to go anymore.

Thus, the money can be well spent buying gold bullion from United States Gold Bureau, or spend on the kids school fees on the next term. It's hard earned money anyway, so can't be wasted just like that.

But I'm yearning for a trip for so long, it's very disappointing that I can't make a trip to Tokyo. I've almost cried when I could not grab the tickets!

Hopefully, there are better future fares awaiting us.

Working from Home

Since I don't want to spend too much on eye wrinkle cream, I prefer to finish all my online assignments today, and then I can work in peace without thinking about my blogs. I'm working from home again, and it's great. I can also fix my kids' dinner as early as I can!

They will be having spaghetti today, which I won't be taking. I got sick of having pasta, and I only fix it because my kids love pasta. I guess I will just be eating bread tonight. :P
